旧制弘前高等学校外国人教師館

この建物は、大正14年(1925）に川元重次郎によって建てられた、旧制弘前高 等学校外国人教師宿舎です。2003年まではここから300メートルほど離れた場所に２棟並んで建っていて、戦前はドイツ語と英語の外国人教師が家族とともに住んでいました。

戦後何度か改装されましたが、県道の拡幅工事に伴い２棟は撤去されることになったものの、貴重な旧制弘前高校の遺産が失われることを惜しん だ教員や弘前高校同窓生の努力により、解体された２棟の保存状態の良い部材を生かしながら創建当時の状態に復元移築され、2005年には文化庁より登録有形文化財の認定を受けています。

These buildings are the old system Hirosaki high school foreigner teacher lodgings built by Juushirou Kawamoto in 1925 (1925). A foreigner teacher of German and English was built in line at the place where it’s about 300 meters away from here until 2003 2 houses, and lived there with the family before the war.

It was remodeled several times after the war, but 2 houses are going to be removed with widening construction on the prefectural highway, but restoration is reconstructed by an effort of the teacher and the Hirosaki high school classmate who regretted that a legacy of a valuable old system Hirosaki high school is lost in a new location in the state in foundation while utilizing a good part of 2 dissolved preservation states, and I get approval of registration tangible cultural properties from the Agency for Cultural Affairs in 2005.
